FILLER POST

Roy Martin has a great postgame analysis of the VT game on Tigernet. "It was a loss that brings into question the mental toughness and leadership of the players. Instead of delivering a message to the rest of the league, in a statement road game late in the season with championship hopes on the line, they fell flat on their faces." Blunt but accurate.

Here's a YouTube clip from ESPN's College Gameday at Sakerlina so you can see just how awful it was and how much they ragged on the Cocks.

  1. Yet again another tigernet hack blames everything on the players. He attempts to sound rational by bringing up Spence's playcalling, but then proceeds to blame everything on Proctor's lack of "execution."

Man, why is it that people who follow Clemson sports on the internet are so football ignorant?

Rob Spence is predictable, he plays into the defense's hands, and if his plan doesn't work he does not make adjustments. I had more faith in him at the beginning of the year, but I've lost it again after watching the Wake game and the VT game. He's GREAT when his original plan works, but if the other defense makes an adjustment (we didn't score after our opening drive) then he's screwed. This is a common theme under Tommy Bowden though, none of his offensive coordinators seem capable of reading a defense and figuring out how to adjust during the game to beat it. I guess that's what you get for hiring people from Temple and Toledo.

  2. Uttles, I think the Tiger fanbase is no more or less football literate than any other fanbase out there. It's not all on the players, it's not all on the coaches, but I think the blame of the VT game has to fall on the shoulders of the coaches. Clemson just wasn't in any way prepared on Thursday, and that's coaching.
The Temple and Toledo comment is a little ignorant; everyone has to start somewhere.

  3. Well, I guess you're right, I just personally have more respect for the Southern Conference than I do for those schools.
